That piano is too loud!!!! Can't be beat but can't be heard!
Gerry was an inspiration to everyone who heard him and so much more to those of us who played with him.
Eunice Louisiana’s own Gerry
Listen to Delaney and Bonnie's "Love Me a Little Bit Longer" and you will hear the best sh*t EVER by Gerry. Changed my life as a musician and had an impact on every overdub I ever did after I heard it.
Unreal!!! What a skilled player! And what a resume he had! Thank you!!
Plays for the angels now 🧡
Rest in peace buddy.
RIP. Gerry
What a pity the backing track is way louder than Gerry's picking.
Realmente sensacional!!!! Lindo gerry McGer
It's fantastic but he coulda put a plug in the guitar to at least make it look like he might not've been "pick syncing"
Amazing!
Holy MoG! No wonder he inspired Jerry Donahue.
Jerry D. took lessons from Gerry McGee when he was 16!
Love watching this guy. One of the best . Must have loads of money.
hahahahah...wish I did........have loads of money....
Great finger pickin remindes me of the late Jerry Read
あなたのギターテクニックはいくつになっても最高です👍
boy...that's some picking!..short but sweet'!
I remember in 1990 when I went to a The Ventures concert Don Wilson told me that "Gerry was one of the best pickers around".
ain't playing live though
no kidding??...hes playing to a recorded track....so what?
he's great either way , this year wasn't w the ventures on their japan tour, wasn't the same without him
yeah too bad he didn't make that tour....
For heaven's sakes, this man is keeping perfect time - spot on throughout. I finger pick a Stratocaster a little but never near approaching to this kind of mastery. As a matter of fact, I think that Gerry did some of that great lead playing on Gene Clark's No Other album. If I am not wrong, it was he who played the great solo on Life's Greatest Fool, one of the best constructed and fluent solos you could ever hear. He may have also done the main solos and fills on The True One, another great song from Gene's great album. Complete mastery of the fingerpicked electric guitar is what you hear (and I think he also plays slide and steel)!
Seldomseenslim fat...thank u..!...Iplayed on 2 Gene clark albums....
素晴らしい
yu r corrwct..larry lachmann..I was not plugged in...I was //faking it..although I did record this ..as a demo...
I don't think he's actually playing live here. He obviously CAN play it, but I think this is not really live playing. Great piece nonetheless. I think he gave lessons to a young Jerry Donahue too.
+Larry Lachmann guitar not being plugged in is a bit of a give-away! :-)
+noisyneil Unbelievably, I didn't catch that!! haha
Dang... and I have connections with this legend....
Its amazing it doesn't even look like the guitar is plugged in.. look no further that was some chicken pick'in
merci"! ..mon ami!
Tres bien!!! La Louisiane!!!
Gerry, I was in Hollywood playing with "The Sons of Adam" in '66; but I didn't find out about a lot of folks for several years when I started getting some bit session parts through Jackie Deshannon. So when the Monkees came out, Louie Shelton told me of you. It is wonderful how we are still above ground. I am learning more every year and you are still spanking the shit outta the Guitar. An inspiration to many of us for many years. Should the Ventures do Seattle, please let me know. I
mighty fine pickin!
Spam took me out, and lost my gmail addy, so I'm re-subscribing! Everyone I have shown this to immediately suffers from "Dropped Jaw Syndrome"!
Can anyone confirm (or refute) if it was J/Gerry playing on Baby Weemus by Nino Tempo (brilliant tenor sax player) and April Stevens.
OK, so now i need my guitar, some lighter fluid and a match!
Smokin
Fantastic wooooooowwwwwh this is so good. Arie from The Netherlands
More please!! Many **********************
thanks to everyone for all the great comments!!
Great guitar work! But should the name be spelled Gerry McGhee, Gerry McGee or Jerry McGee? I'm a bit puzzled.
Great playing!!
. A snappy little charge up (an) exclusive road... "the touch that's drilled with DAZZLE!" .
i could do that, i just don't want to. ;-) what a shred.
hahaha..tad rapidly....do it!
When you play , any kind of guitar makes a splendid sound
Have you used a telecaster attached the "hanbacker" to? I found the telecaster(hanbacker, front&brige). this sound is good.
Love it. One of the greats for sure.
I really enjoyed this! Please upload more Gerry McGee if you have it.
このように自分も弾けたらいいなぁと思いました。ギターが楽しくなるでしょうね。
